MEGA Most Stylish 2012

Dress and shoes from Bangkok | Dorothy Perkins gold clutch | Aldo gold ring
Here’s what I wore to the MEGA Most Stylish event about two weeks ago to support my good friend, Camille. I got this dress by “accident” during my trip to BKK last month. I didn’t really plan on buying this piece but I felt bad not getting myself anything on my last day there. And after taking it out for a spin that night, I suddenly fell in love with the fully sequined detail plus the asymmetrical hem. And the SHOES! Don’t even get me started on them. Bangkok is shoe heaven! ‘Nuff said.
The gold clutch was a last minute purchase as well since I got back in Manila just a day before this event. I love the fact that I got it on sale too!
P.S. Fashion Week starts in a few days and I’m so excited! So which shows are you dying to watch? :)
Till then,

MULLET

Red collared top from Androgyny | The Ramp mullet skirt | shoes from Vietnam
Since mullet pieces are so in this season, I’m going to show you my personal take on the trend. I really think this type of cut gives that instant edgy look to any outfit, may it be a dress, top or skirt just like what I have on. And I am in love with this red top with studded collar! It doesn’t hurt that it’s sheer, too. Perfect for the weather in Manila!
Speaking of Manila, I can’t wait to go home! I’ve been working on a shoot here in Bangkok for a week now and I’m finally flying back tomorrow. I’m so excited to share this project with all of you!! So stay tuned for that!

CAMEL

Parisian fringe bag
Zara metallic sweater | Leggings from Vietnam
Qupid shoes
Aldo ring

How ironic that as soon as the summer season begins, rain starts to pour. Such a drag! Oh well, the sun may be in hiding but that doesn’t mean you have to dress all gloomy either!
You can wear thick pieces and opt to cover up as much as you want to protect yourself from the cold but why not do it with colors that make your entire outfit alive? :) Camel is one tone that usually screams just that, plus gives any look an added ooomph because of its elegant and classy nature.
I did a tone on tone look here but played around with the textures a bit to break the monotony. The softness of my knit pullover balanced out the heavy look of my leather leggings and my bag added a fun twist. I especially love the gold elbow patch on my sweater, don’t you? Looks very equestrian! :)
So what do you guys think?

BEHIND THE SCENES: CREAMSILK TVC SHOOT
Just in case you haven’t seen the TV commercial yet, here it is!
Grabbed from proudlypinoytvc on Youtube
So I was lucky enough to be part of such an amazing team behind this one of a kind project under Cream Silk. All I can say is, hair and beauty commercials are the hardest to shoot but surprisingly the most fulfilling! I had such a wonderful time working on this project and I really learned a lot.
And now, onto the BTS shots!

BUTTERCUP

Quick post!
Red bustier and brown pleated skirt from my recent trip to Vietnam. The adorable bejeweled skull cuff is a gift from my mom and my ever so reliable platforms are from The Ramp. This outfit reminds me so much of my favorite dessert in the world: red velvet cupcakes! I have no idea why ha ha.
P.S. Have you guys seen the latest Creamsilk “Perfection” TV commercial yet? Will make a separate entry on that soon :)
Till then,

DANCING ON MY OWN

Aldo gold and silver chain necklace
Zara oversized metallic sweater | DIY denim shorts
Aldo ring | Forever 21 silver cuff | Zara sling bag
Parisian lace up booties

Named this entry after one of my all time favorite songs! Anyway, wore this to a night out with my good friends where we, you guessed it - danced the night away! The good thing is I didn’t end up dancing “on my own” to say the least :) Yay for crazy friends!
Normally I don’t wear long sleeves to night outs but this time I had no choice because I was suffering from a really bad case of sun burn on my shoulders and arms due to a recent trip to the beach. Yes, sun burn! And trust me, it was THAT bad so I had to think of something to cover it up. So glad I bought a number of metallic sweaters to add to my stash that week. I originally planned on wearing them after the summer season but I guess they came in handy a little early :) This navy number is my favorite!
In my opinion, you don’t always need to show a lot of skin just because you’re heading out to a club or a party. If you’re going for an edgier look, usually metallic pieces do the trick plus black stockings to add more drama! Anyway, that’s it for now. It’s Monday again and I’m off to a shoot to start my work week. Till my next post!

COLOR

Eric delos Santos for Folded and Hung Luxe jumpsuit
Forever 21 coral necklace

I’m back!!! Sorry for the long hiatus but I’ve been extra busy with a lot of things involving a major change at work. A positive one, though! Still very much grateful for everything :)
As my first ever entry - for the year, that is. I decided to wear this beautiful watercolor printed jumpsuit by one of my favorite local designers, Eric delos Santos. Honestly, this outfit is a huge pick me upper! I’ve only worn it twice and every time I do, it instantly changes my mood. I love the vibrant print plus the fun and playful feel. It’s like the disco era all over again! Kept my accessories at a minimum and only wore my coral necklace which gave an extra color boost to my jumpsuit. It definitely brought out the colors more. Looove!
Anyway, that’s it for now. I promise to post more about work in the weeks to come! So stay tuned :)
P.S. Happy birthday to one of my best friends! I love you like a sister, Tin Alvarez!
